WebCrawler

                                                                   http://webcrawler.com

Scope

With two million sites in the database, WebCrawler is best for identifying major WWW resources or most relevant sites for mainstream resources. It may be a good place
to start for those new to keyword searching with full-text indexing, an easy-to-use search form and compact results. In addition to sites that request listing, WebCrawler
includes the popular sites and ones that fill in gaps in the database. Its most notable feature may be Web Shortcuts, a fully implemented example of the trend toward
adding commercial links to search results. Many hits are links to WebCrawler's staff-reviewed sites or Usenet links.

Interface

A simple search interface allows searching the Internet and newsgroups. Webcrawler supports natural language searching or the common Boolean operators. Any
modifications are offered after the initial search. Its Channels on popular topics are similar to the larger search engines and the News one can be searched by itself.

Logic

Or is the Boolean default word, but WebCrawler supports using and, not, and adj indicates adjacent (next to each other) in exact order.
Phrase search by using quotation marks.
Using a set of parentheses is possible in complex queries.
Webcrawler is not case sensitive; you must enter upper case separately
     Truncation is not automatic.
Use + for inclusion and - for exclusion of words or phrases in the search results.

Results

WebCrawler tells you how many documents were found that matched your search. The short form display gives 25 titles, then gives the option to show a detailed form
providing titles, summaries, URLs and numerical relevancy. You can view the next set of results, refine your original search or try a new search. You also have the option of
     searching "Similar Pages."
